God is the Same Yesterday, Today and Forever

The most powerful weapon against fear and worry is scripture. You can find a scripture that pertains to your circumstances no matter what they are and lean on their power to reassure you. But why are the words of the Bible so much more powerful than others? It's because the Word of God has been unchangeable down through the centuries, unchangeable and reliable at all times.

The God who delivered the Israelites yesterday will deliver you today and your children tomorrow. God's love, power and almighty presence are unceasing. What a wonderful and reassuring feeling!

"For I am the Lord, I do not change."
- Malachi 3:6

God is the Same Yesterday, Today and Forever

Change happens all around us; day changes to night, the seasons change, and the circumstances of our lives change. One day we may be up and the next day, down. Even those who love us most change as the days, weeks and years pass. God was wise enough to understand that we are human and that change in our lives should be part of the human condition, yet he also gave us certain constants in our lives - yes, there are seasons, but they follow a predictable pattern so that crops can grow and we can appreciate the beauty of nature. Day always follows night so that we can rest when we need to and wake up each day feeling refreshed. There is a constancy to even the changes in our lives that tell us that God's love is always present.

Knowing that our universe is put together so that we can rely on it to follow a reliable pattern is reassuring. It tells us that God himself is constant in His love for us, so we need not fear. His loving kindness is eternal and never changing. Even as our lives change, jobs come and go, and relationships grow and fade, God is steadfastly loving us and watching over us.

"Give all your worries to God, for he cares what happens to you."
- 1 Peter 5:7

When something in our lives goes wrong or brings us sorrow, we sometimes tell ourselves, "Don't worry, this too shall pass." It is a thought that helps us to feel just a little bit better about the lows in our lives, but when the highs come along, we don't want to think that they are only temporary. It is reassuring to remember that God has promised to always be there - He is not temporary and His love will never pass away from our lives.

God's love, power and protection are never-changing and never-ending, no matter what we do or what happens in the universe. We don't have to tell ourselves that things will change when we think about God - He's always been there and always will be. God's mighty presence is with us in all circumstances and conditions, in all places at all times. Any adversity that we face gives God another opportunity for us to experience His great peace, love and understanding. How wonderful that the Lord is so constant - you never have to worry about whether He is there for you or not - He is eternal, just as He has always said.

"Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord is the one who goes before you. He will be with you; he will neither fail you nor forsake you."
- Deuteronomy 31:8

Lemon Detox Diet Recipe - Make it Today

The lemon detox diet recipe is by far the most requested of any of the detox type recipes available online. This is due to the high media coverage the detox diet drink has received on American and British television. I must say though that it does worry me that many who take up this diet do so without consulting their doctor or without any preparation. Before I give you the recipe I'm going to take a little of your time to make sure that your detox experience is as rewarding and safe as possible.

Firstly as I have already said before starting any detox diet plan consult your doctor. We are all unique and just because a detox diet works safely for one person does not mean it is ideal for everybody.

Secondly don’t simply switch from you normal high junk food, high processed food, high caffeine intake and alcohol diet straight to a harsh detox diet. If you do the chances are high that you will fail. Make sure at least a few days before you start a detox plan that to start cutting down on the foodstuffs you know you are going to grave.

Lemon Detox Diet Recipe - Make it Today

Many who do detox do feel ill for at least a couple of days. Symptoms can include feeling lightheaded, nausea and feeling week. These symptoms are common and usually last a few days. If you continue to feel ill consult your doctor. If you can't cope with the symptoms then stop the detox plan.

Lemon Detox Diet Recipe

Take a drinking glass and add 4oz of cold water

Add lemon juice from half of a freshly squeezed Lemon.

Add 2 tablespoons of Pure Maple Syrup.

Add a dash of Cayenne Pepper or ground ginger.

Using a spoon stir well. Add 4 oz of cold water then stir again.

You should also have a large glass of water each day with 1 teaspoon of salt as this helps stimulate bowl movements.

If you can't stomach the salt water drink this can be substituted with one teaspoon of senna tea replacing the salt.

Take either the salt or senna tea solution in the evening.

It is recommended you have a multi-vitamin or mega multi-vitamin each day.

You should drink at least 6 to 10 glasses of the lemon drink each day and have nothing else apart from the salt or tea drink. The detox process is meant to be followed for between 3 to 7 days.

Simple Rules For Personal Health and Hygiene

Have you been following a plan for your own personal hygiene, or do you get up in the morning, take a bath, brush and blow dry your hair, use the bathroom through the day, and go to bed at night? If you only do the latter, you need to put more planning and preparation into your personal care and grooming.

Cleanliness is seen nowadays as next to Godliness, and neglect of your own personal hygiene may cause health and social problems of which you are not even aware. Bad breath, for example, is a common problem--the perpetrator is often accused of it, but he or she may not be attending to it. Problems such as dandruff are forgivable, but good looks are usually the result of great care and attention paid to personal grooming. You should put some time and effort into it if you want to feel and look your best every day.

All external parts of the body need time and attention. Below is a partial list of the body parts which you should be taking care of with your grooming plan. Here are some tips as to how to attend to your most common and ordinary daily grooming needs.

Simple Rules For Personal Health and Hygiene

HAIR

First of all, keep your hair at a length and style which you can properly maintain in a cleanly manner at all times. Wash your crowning glory at least twice per week, using a mild shampoo devoid of borax or alkalis. It is not a good idea to use soap, as it can leave a fine film of stickiness in your hair. Shampoo is meant to wash totally out of your hair. Be sure and carefully towel dry your hair after you wash it, and be cautious with the blow dryer. You don't want your hair to become too dry and brittle. Especially if you have long or thick hair, brush it three to four times per day, using a soft bristled brush or wide toothed comb. Be sure to wash your hair grooming tools every time you wash your hair. And oil your scalp with grooming oil once per week, preferably one hour before you wash it. A hot oil treatment is fine--if you know exactly what you are doing.

Hair coloring or dye is not recommended, as no current dyes have been found to be completely safe for long term use. They contain chemicals which can seep into your scalp and even cause premature hair loss. So we recommend not using hair dye if possible. Also, try not to wear a hat for a very long period of time. Wearing hats has also been shown to cause premature hair loss. Redheads need to be particularly concerned, as they are subject to early hair loss.

SKIN

A good bath once or twice per day is essential for cleanliness and good grooming. You should always bathe after any strenuous physical activity. Mild soaps are best, and you don't need to use a germicidal or antiseptic soap unless you have a medical or "smelliness" problem. Bath brushes, bath sponges, and mildly abrasive scrubbers are recommended. You must also pay special attention to your genitals and anal area, as lack of care paid to these can lead to serious infections--as well as an inadequate sex life. Rinse yourself thoroughly after washing, and be sure to use a dry and clean towel to properly dry yourself. Don't ever share towels, try not to share bathing equipment, and wash all of your equipment after each bath. Putting a teaspoonful of bleach in one gallon of warm water, rinse your bathing equipment in the water, and then under warm running water. And always change into completely clean underwear after each bath.

It's good to use a fine organic moisturizing oil or cream every day, especially as you get older. Put it on at night to avoid that sticky feeling, and so as to not attract dust and filmy dirt throughout the day.

TEETH

Brush your teeth two to three times every day, or after meals or snacks as needed. It's important especially to brush right before bedtime. Pay attention to getting rid of the food particles stuck between your teeth. Flossing is highly recommended over toothpicks for this. You only need about a pea sized dab of toothpaste on your toothbrush. When brushing, brush down on the upper teeth and brush up on the lower teeth, using a circular motion. Also, brush the inner as well as the outer surface of your teeth, and before you brush each time, carefully brush your tongue.

Your toothbrush should never be shared with anyone. It should have resilient bristles, and it should be well rinsed and left somewhere completely sanitary to dry after each usage. Try to use organic toothpaste, one that's completely safe and free of harsh abrasives or strong antiseptics. Baking soda has been found to be a very effective substitute for toothpaste, if you don't mind its strong flavor.

HANDS

You should always be washing your hands. There's no such thing as too often. Use a good hand cream if they become dry. Pay attention to your fingernails when you wash your hands. A good nail brush placed near your bathroom sink is a sound investment. Use soap every time you wash, and always wash before and after meals--and after you go to the bathroom. Many infections such as E. coli are caused every day by people who don't wash their hands after going to the bathroom. You should also keep washing your hands while preparing meals.

NAILS

Your fingernails completely replace themselves every five to six months. You need to keep them well trimmed, and preferably buffed and polished too. Men can buff their nails and use a nail shining tool instead of polish to give their nails a healthy glow. Women may of course polish their nails with beautiful colors, which can hide the discoloration that comes with age. Clip your nails to the length you want them, but don't ever trim too close to the skin. If your nails chip easily, consider adding more protein to your diet, as finger and toenails are all made of protein. Eating gelatin can work for this.

Very brittle, highly yellow or discolored nails can be a sign of a serious health problem. Please see your doctor immediately if you have this. Also, do not always keep your nails painted with polish. This can lead to stripping of the natural keratin of the nails. Also, either go out or give yourself a home manicure and a pedicure once every couple of weeks. Be sure and buy a very good manicure kit for this purpose.

FEET

Many people take no care whatsoever of their own feet, usually to their detriment. Always keep your toenails clipped, shaping the nails but not cutting too close to the skin. Always give your feet a good scrubbing with a pumice stone or mildly abrasive brush when taking a bath, and before you put on your socks, dry carefully between your toes. Try wearing a clean pair of cotton socks every day; this will pamper your feet and keep them dry and not smelly. Powder your feet after you take a bath. Try not to wear the same pair of shoes every day, and alternate wearing your shoe pairs. And make sure you wear comfortable shoes. Comfort and safety should come before stylishness. High heels can lead to the shortening of important calf muscles.

DEODORANT

Your underarms don't emit an odor until you hit your preteens. That's when your apocrine glands, which are located under your arms and around your genitals, begin to function, producing a milky, oily type of perspiration. Bacteria then thrive in this sweat, causing the familiar underarm odor.

To control strong odor, you can wash daily with an antibacterial soap such as Lever 2000. You should always wear clean clothes that are free of staining and sweat. Use a deodorant that is also an antiperspirant, which will dry up moisture in the armpits. Cut back on your caffeine intake-it puts your apocrine glands into overdrive. After a bath, dust yourself liberally with a fine talcum powder. Always drink plenty of water, both to flush your system of toxins and to regulate your bowels. This alone may end some problems you may have with "smelliness."

TANNING

Getting a "healthy tan" is not considered to be healthy anymore. Now doctors are telling us that you shouldn't mind your pale skin. Skin cancer, which is often deadly, is not a fair trade for good looks. When sunning, protect your fair skin with an at least SPF 30 sunscreen lotion. Keep your skin oiled and moisturized during the summer, and don't bother with the "bronze look."

BODY HAIR

Around puberty, your hair follicles respond to hormones raging in your body. You can end up with hair around your belly button, on your back, near your breasts and for both women and men, on your upper lip. If it's especially coarse, show your doctor, as you may have a treatable hormonal imbalance. Some such "peach fuzz" is normal for girls, and if it seems unsightly to you, you can try bleaching or removing it. Nair is known to be a gentle permanent hair remover.

I hope you found these simple rules to be helpful to you. If you follow your own careful grooming and personal care plan, you will feel better, look more attractive, and probably live a longer, happier and more fulfilling life.

USA Today: America's Newspaper

USA Today is America's most widely read print newspaper, with 1.8 million copies in circulation in 2010. Published by Gannett Company, Inc., the national daily newspaper is distributed in all fifty states, as well as the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Guam, Canada and the United Kingdom. USA Today publishes a weekend magazine in lieu of daily issues on Saturday and Sunday. Founded September 15, 1982 by newspaper industry mogul Al Neuharth, USA Today was more than a capitalistic effort; the mid-market national paper did not make a profit until at least 1993, some sources say 1998! However, continuously funded by Gannett, the daily would go on to become the largest publication of it's kind in the nation, bringing a different approach to news, and carving a niche in mainstream media.

Some analysts believe that USA Today was a media response to the post-Watergate-era press. With scandal and negativity prevailing in news media, USA Today served as an opposing force, reporting what was going right with the nation instead of what was going wrong. Utilizing an atypical newspaper layout and use of color to denote various sections, the articles are written in easy-to-read language and arranged in an easy access format. USA Today not only informs, but entertains and provides relevant statistics and stories that speak to the American culture and the quality of life of American readers.

Some media scandals:

USA Today: America's Newspaper

1992: Tennis superstar Arthur Ashe contracted HIV through a blood transfusion he received during heart surgery in 1988; however, he and his wife decided to keep his illness private. Reports that USA Today planned to publish a story about his condition forced Ashe to make a public statement about having the disease on April 8th of that year.
2004: When long-time correspondent and Pulitzer Prize nominee Jack Kelley was accused of fabricating stories in March 2004, scandal rocked the paper. Tedious and thorough investigation on the claims were conducted by USA Today, including travel to Cuba, Israel, and Jordan to check facts and records in an effort to prove whether or not Kelley was where he claimed to be while researching and writing his stories. Although he denied the claims, Kelley resigned from the paper, and then publisher Craig Moon issued a public apology on the front page of the magazine.
2006: By far the biggest scandal involving the paper, in May 2006 the newspaper reported that AT&T, Verizon, and BellSouth had been working with the National Security Agency to compose "the largest database in the world." The sources were anonymous NSA insiders who decided to go public. This expose upset the White House, particularly in light of reports from the New York Times revealing how the Bush Administration authorized NSA wiretaps of international phone calls and emails transmitted within the U.S.

USA Today currently sells for .00 on newsstands, but complimentary copies of the newspaper are distributed at many American hotels and airports.

In order to successfully treat and manage gout, it is important to understand the condition. Logically, there is good reason why this condition manifests itself in men in their 40's. At that age point, bad habits begin to catch up to the body and in essence, serve as a wake up call.

A Diet For Gout - What You Should (And Should Not) Eat If You Have Gout

Gout can be hereditary, but it is almost always brought on by a combination of factors. These include lack of exercise, a sedentary lifestyle, and poor dietary habits. usually, other medical problems arise in addition to gout, like high blood pressure and cholesterol issues.

Symptoms usually start on a fairly mild basis and then intensify. One of the big toes is the first to serve notice by becoming swollen, red, and painful to the touch. Without getting too technical for the sake of this discussion, the condition is directly caused by too much uric acid in the blood stream which then crystallizes. These acid crystals lodge themselves in joints like the big toe, resulting in pain and discomfort.

There is no known cure for gout, nor are there any miracle drugs. If you see someone pitching a miracle pill, turn the other way. You can manage your condition though. Doing so requires a combination of dietary changes and exercise. Let's focus on dietary issues in this article.

What Gout Sufferers Should And Should Not Eat

First of all, it is important to evaluate your own personal situation and health condition. If you are only at the beginning stages of gout, feel fortunate because you have an excellent chance to manage your condition.

In general, a healthy diet is also the ideal diet for gout sufferers. Avoid fatty meats in excess. Add more fruits and fresh vegetables to your meals. Also, substitute water for other beverages like soda pop and energy drinks.

Berries are one food group you should seek out and eat frequently. Cherries are known for their anti swelling properties and can help your condition. The same is true with blueberries, strawberries, and raspberries. They are all low in calories and will help satisfy sweet cravings.

Lean protein is another important element. Add lean chicken and fish to your diet, particularly lighter fish like tilapia. Be sure to prepare them in a healthy manner, avoiding extra fat.

As for foods to avoid, we touched upon fatty meats. Gravy is especially bad for those with gout. Beer is a beverage to avoid or at a minimum, consume in moderation. The same holds true for harder alcohol.

Beyond maintaining a proper diet plan, you will want to add consistent exercise into your daily regimen. This helps monitor your weight and improves circulation and overall health.

Summary

If you suffer from gout, you can manage your condition with a proper diet. Avoid fatty meats and gravy, while adding more lean protein and vegetables to your meals. Berries are another excellent choice.

While there is no known cure for the condition, many sufferers have effectively rid themselves of symptoms and chronic pain through a combination of diet and exercise.

Protein plays a vital role in Paleo diet and meals should consist of approximately 60% to 70% percent of your daily food intake. The balance of course being fruit, vegetables, nuts and seeds with additional oils used in preparation of the meals such as avocado oil, nut oils etc.

Paleo Diet Recipes: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

NO GRAIN OR DAIRY IS TO BE CONSUMED

Remember shop fresh, organic, natural and wild. To be totally Paleo, eat seasonal as well - this of course being carbon footprint friendly.

Lunch and dinner Paleo diet recipes and meals can be adjusted according to your own personal lifestyle and requirements. To start out take your usual recipes and merely substitute the 'cannot have' with a 'can have' - you will be amazed how quickly you adjust and how capable you are of making your own Paleo diet recipes.

Some ideas for your three main Paleo diet meals for the day:

Breakfast:

2 Poached eggs on a bed of lightly panned spinach Bowl of mixed berries with nuts and cashew cream A 2 egg omelette with filling of your choice eg - no dairy though Chicken liver and bacon with grilled tomato. Fruit smoothy of choice eg banana and nut; berries and fresh coconut blended with ice cubes. Steamed/grilled fish with grilled tomato and mushroom. Absolutely nothing wrong with having the leftovers from dinner the night before.

Lunch and Dinners

These can be adjusted according to your daily routine.

Mushroom burger with salad Roast chicken, vegetables and salad Meat and vegetable kebab with broccoli and walnut salad Bolognaise - made with zucchini spaghetti Prawn, avocado and fresh asparagus salad Wholesome chunky soup. Steak, vegetable bake and salad.

Sauces/Dressings

Salads and vegetables can be enhanced with various sauces and dressings eg any easy to make dressing of the combination of honey, lemon juice, seasoning and fresh, finely chopped herbs of choice. Paleo tartar sauce made from Paleo mayonnaise can be added to seafood, be it fish, shellfish or crustacean. A basic Paleo diet recipe for mayo is as follows:

3 - 5 Garlic cloves peeled (large)

Approximately 2 cups of organic olive oil

2 room temperature, lightly beaten free range egg yolks,

juice of 1 organic lemon

small quantity of lukewarm waster

Crush garlic cloves into a paste and add to the lightly beaten egg yolks. Lightly beat with wooden spoon until the mixture turns pale yellow.

While blending the garlic and egg yolk very slowly (drop by drop) add 3 tablespoons of the olive.

Blend gently until the mixture is thick and creamy then add ½ to 1 tablespoon of water and 1 teaspoon of the lemon juice.

Continue stirring while adding the olive oil in a very fine stream. If the mixture becomes too thick once again add 1 teaspoon of water and 1 teaspoon of lemon juice.

Continue like this until all the oil is used.

Always mix by stirring in one direction only.

Should the mixture split - put it over into a clean bowl and add a teaspoon of lukewarm water and mix continue like this until fixed.

Most important have fun inventing your very own Pale Diet recipes and meals.
